3 Injection pitette/ ICSI 13 April 2010 2
Hello! I have a quick question and need an answer please as soon as possible. During ICSI, i usually split the eggs into several plates, placing around 6 eggs/ plate. when i finish with the first plate and after transfering the eggs to their apppropriate media, i cant continue working with the same injecting pipette, it gets stuck and stops from aspirating. I usually keep on releasing oil, it becomes better but the aspirations remains slow; so i change it every time i move to the next plate. What shall i do to keep on working with the same injection pipette?

Re: Exposure time of oocytes to spermatozoa
I leave them for 4 hours. Fertilization rate is excellent.

Re: Injection pitette/ ICSI
PVP Blockage
Hi,
Once i've finished my series of injections and need to replenish / replace a dish, I flush the ICSI pipette with media to remove the PVP.
This should solve the problem :)

Re: Injection pitette/ ICSI
Sticky ICSI pipette
You could try lowering the ICSI pipette into a dish with drops of medium or PVP under oil, to keep the glass moist between dishes. It sounds like the PVP on or in the tip is dehydrating.

Re: Retained embryos
Retained embryo after ET
Check following points
Loading embryo, volume of media used for transfer, any oil droplet over the transfer media during loading(which is used during culture), syringe with too tight plungers, and mucus during transfer. Hold plunger in position till ET catheter is removed and after embryo transfer withdraw inner and outer catheter together.
Good luck - Mike

Re: Minc vs ORGIO/Planer Benchtop Incubator BT37
BT-37 from Planer/Orgio apparently has best of both worlds. It has taken care of issues of cranked and water clogged humidity tubing by employing tube guides and heaters. It also comes with built-in battery power which lasts for 2 hours. There is also a visual indication for active humidification. The heating plate(s) are calibrated at 6 different points as against other Incubator. (I am a distributor of Planer/Origio products in India)
