1 Lab cleaning? 21 May 2009 1
What is the best way to clean lab? Is a coda tower or positive pressure a must.....? Do many labs just clean with hot water?

Re: ivf
Not much to go on, but I\'ll give it a crack
No implantation occured. Possible reasons are: - despite being \"good\" embryos they did not continue to develop/hatch as expected. - while endometrial thickness was as expected, the embryos did not bury inside. - while the clinican reported a good insertion of the cath, and no embryos were seen in the dish/tubes afterwards, the insertion was not correct. If the clinican you\'re using has had pregnancies in the past and you continue to get no positive results, I\'d start looking at your culture conditions - despite having nice embryos.
Simon Aiken

Re: ivf
Culture conditions are vital
Culture conditions are to be scrutinized to reach to a conclusion. what was the past performance of your setup

Re: Lab Cleaning?
If volatile impurities are your concern then you should go for a coda tower, for particulate contamination the positive pressure is a better option.

Re: Cleaning Incubators
CLEANING SHOULD BE NON TOXIC
You can use a non-perfumed soap solution, but the incubator interiors should be thoroughly moped with distilled water a number of times to make it free of soap residues, finally you can clean with absolute ethanol (non perfumed). Do not forget to let the ethanol evaporate completely before use (you can dry run the incubator for 2 to 3 hrs with intermittent door opening to facilitate the complete removal of ethenol vapours)
