1 How to handle eggs with tough oolema while ICSI 04 April 2009 1
Hi guys i am having problem handling eggs with tough oolema while performing ICSI. The eggs look quite normal when you inject the pippete inside. But when you aspirate oolema, it doesn't break at all and the egg gets degenerated immediately. What should one do in such cases? Is there any way of knowing the nature of oolema before we start aspirating? How should we handle such eggs.

And this is very important for me therefore I'd like to entries PhD studies and I need experience on this field of research. Re: How to handle eggs with tough oolema while ICSI
I'm not sure either how to predict which oocytes will be harder to inject, with regard to oolema not breaking at aspiration - but what I\'ve done is to pull the needle back out, rotate the oocyte 180 degrees on the same axis, so that the indentation is now at the holding pipette, and go for it again. This seems to tighten the oolema up a bit, and help with the injection process.
