| HI, is there anybody who have some experience with super critic CO2 (AGA). Can I really improve embryo quality with it ? it is just an ultra pure CO2 ? THank

| I would like to ask where is the position of straw for seeding during embryo freezing? seeding in cotton head with freezing medium or seeding in embryo column directly?

No fertilzation after egg retrieval (reasons/suggestions)

| There were 6 eggs and none fertilized. Is it possible that there was a bad batch that month and patient should try again? Any other medications should be introduced besides Follistim and Ganirelix that might aid in better egg quality?

Re: Super Critic CO2
Supercritical grade CO2 is a high purity product that should be cleaner than the typical CP grade used by many clinics. It is marketted to anaytical chemists for extraction of pesticides, etc. The next question is: Is it worth the cost? Maybe not...
Here are some factors to consider:
Consider using the CP grade with an activated carbon filter
Even CP grade CO2 is very clean, when it first starts to be used and contiues to be clean as long as there is liquid CO2 in the cylinder. At this stage the pressure doesn\'t chage as you withdraw the CO2. As use continues it eventually can\'t maintain the crital pressure to keep the CO2 in the liquid phase. It is at this point that any impurity that was disolved in the liquid CO2 will now be relases as a gas impurity. It is at this point the presure drops very quickly. In our lab we change out the CO2 tank once we seek the presure drop precipitiously.
Alternately, the typical J size cylinder contains 50 lbs of CO2. Some labs place the CO2 cylinder on a bathroom scale and when it has lost 45 lbs, they change out the tank...They don\'t ever see the bottom of the tank when the impurirites are dissolved in the remaining liquid CO2.
Recall that CO2 is a great solvent, that is why it is used in super fluid extraction. Most CP grade CO2 comes from the petroleum or fertilizer industries.
Prices for CO2 vary widely depending on purity, you may want to consider a CO2 carbon filter on you CP grade material
Finally, some labs (2) did use electronic grade CO2 and while they didn\'t puplish the data, they didn\'t see any improvement in outcomes.

Re: Sperm Immobilisation
A motile sperm if introduced may damage the internal structures of the oocytes which may adversly affect the normal development. a partially damaged sperm may however allow normal development

Re: No fertilzation after egg retrieval (reasons/suggestions)
Protocols may matter but it is always better to check the lab conditions before reaching to the conclusions.
Your general fertilization rates may provide you a better insight.

Re: Repeated Chemical Pregnancy
One possible reason could be zona hardening, check the CO2 concentration of your incubator, may try bit higher concentration.
use hepes media more oftenly
hope it works

Re: Repeated Chemical Pregnancy
I would explore the etiology of the 22 week loss and go from there. At age 35 however, aneuploidy is of course the most likely cause of an early loss.

Re: Repeated Chemical Pregnancy
How about temp fluctuations in your lab and ET rooms???
