News: Older fathers may increase chance of dying before adulthood
A new study has shown that becoming a father after the age of 45 increases the likelihood that the resulting child will die before reaching adulthood. The researchers, based at the University of Aarhus in Denmark, who published their findings in the European Journal of Epidemiology, say that the reason for this is the decline in the quality of sperm as men age.

Re: Polar body fragmantation
Polar Body fragmentation seldom comes from denudation. At times, high humidity can cause overall fragmentation , not just the PBs.The stimulation protocols to be verified. If chronic PCOS, Endometriosis or any untreated pathology can give rise to poor quality oocytes which give poor fertilization, fragmented polar bodies, large perivitalline space and other anomalies. Try to check the patient\'s record and the treatment. You shall bound to get the remedy.
Dr.Ravindranath Ravi Santati IVF Centre, Bangalore, India

Re: Oocyte Quality
The quality of oocyte is determined by its appearance and its performance after fertilization. looking at the morphology, the eggs which do not have a typical sunray appearance, are dark in colour, tightly attached to the coronal and cumulus cells even sometimes with dark centres will be considered as a poor quality egg. looking into their performance, the egg which shows a prompt 3pronuclei or an activated 2 or 4 cell at the time of fertilization check even if it was injected at the right interval would be considered as a poor one.
