News: UK MPs debate new fertilisation and embryology laws MPs will debate proposed legislation on controversial issues such as the use of animal eggs in human embryonic stem (ES) cell research and other types of 'hybrid' embryos; 'saviour siblings' - babies conceived following embryo testing to ensure their cord blood will provide tissue-matched stem cells for an existing sick child; and 'the need for a father' to be considered by IVF providers when assessing the welfare of children to be conceived using assisted reproduction techniques. Re: Overnight IVF insemination concentration
The amount to inseminate with varies, but its generally between 50,000-100,000 sperm per well (or ml). I have seen clinics that will go up to 150,000, but only if they\'re concerned about the \"fair\" motility of the sperm.

All what is mentioned here is great. No one can really tell you the real cause of the situation . It is only you who can know. So, you have much work to do. I assure that QC has great effect here. pH variations can have deleterious effect. Since you have good fert rate and you are transferring the zygotes on day one to new culture dishes, try to be quick in this step, Temp variations also have negative effect on the spindle. What is the Biochemical PR? Abortion R? Check step wise and exclude one factor each time. Oocyte quality might also have a role here. type of drugs, urinary or recom? You have a lot to work on. Good luck. in my opinion, the usual rate of G1 embryos is 35-40 % and the same for G2.

Re: Oocyte quality
I had this patient who was Poor responder. She was 38. Produced 2 very dark brownish oocytes. After ICSI, both fertilized, and transferred. She got pregnant, and healthy baby girl has joined the family finally. Quality of oocytes have to do with many factors like pathology, OHS protocol and the drug. I think you have plenty of work on this with the team at your clinic. All the best

Re: 2 polar bodies in oocyte before ICSI?
I have done ICSI on an oocyte with two distinct polar bodies just for observation and to culture it up to Blastocyst. But I didn\'t select it for Embryo transfer.
