News: UK parliament alarmed by 1.2 million leftover IVF embryos
Over the past 14 years, over half of the total number of embryos created for use in IVF in the UK have not been used, according to government statistics. Between 1991 and 2005, 1.2 million embryos were not used, from a total of more than two million embryos (2,137,924) created by specialists while assisting infertile couples in the UK to have babies.

News: Parent status of sperm donors in the spotlight
A UK sperm donor has announced that a decision to make him pay child maintenance, after he donated his sperm in a private arrangement to a lesbian couple, is being reconsider by the Child Support Agency (CSA). Andy Bathie, a fireman, donated his sperm informally to Sharon and Terri Arnold for home insemination. Bathie alleges that the donation was made as a favour and there was an agreement that he would play no part in the child's life and would also not be required to pay maintenance.

Hi, At our center we are know going to use cook mink incubator.Can somebody help me to solve the problem,that we are at 553 m above the sea level so how much co2 should be used at this level at present we are using 5.0 %co2 so please help me to solve the problem Thanking you

Hi George, With a minc you will have to run with a premixed gas so I don\'t think atmospheric effects will be much of a problem - the CO2 concentration will depend on you media and what the manufacturers recommend to give their optimal pH. If you know what pH you want to use calculate the required CO2 concentration using Henderson- Hasselbach. With the Cook medium I have experience of, I used 6%CO2 5%O2 and 89%N2. feel free to email me if you require any further help Regards
