Welcome to the latest issue of IVF News.

We have prepared a questionnaire to examine views and opinions regarding assisted reproductive technology and ongoing advances in the field of in vitro fertilization. The questionnaire is online and in a multiple choice format; it should not take too long to complete. I hope you will find the questions interesting, perhaps challenging and also fun.

Please take a few minutes to complete this questionnaire. Your assistance and support is very much appreciated. We are also interested in the opinions of your family and friends so please feel free to pass the questionnaire on.

We have observed that some two cell embryos at early cleave check show more than one nucleus in the blastomeres. The next day, when we do day 2 check these embryos, with four blastomeres show one nucleus per blastomere. Is this normal? Is it alright to transfer these embryos?

Re: Multinucleate blastomeres
In our hands, the presence of multinucleation reduces the implantation potential of an embryo by approx. 50%. So we certainly do have ongoing pregnancies. We transfer them only when there is no other choice.
