7 days of stimulation 16 September 2007 15 0
In both long and flare protocols, when the number of days of stimulation is eight or less than that we get very fragile oocytes. Degeneration rate after ICSI seems to be high, whereas no change in pregnancy rate has been noticed. What is the experience of other labs?

Re: co2 incubators
Practical Considerations while chosing a CO2 Incubator

? Work Load (Capacity) : The number of cases you would handle in a day with one Incubator is very important. If you have smaller work-load, you may think of buying a small capacity incubator.
? Power Consumption : Prolonged power cuts and power transients is the norm in countries like India. Critical and sensitive equipment like Incubators are prone to such problems. An Incubator which consumes lower power to maintain the parameters (on emergency battery based power) would be an economical choice.
? Frequency of Door opening: As number of operators handling single Incubator and work-load (dishes) increases, frequency of door opening also increases. In this case an Incubator with maximum possible split doors (divided gas tight screens) should be preferred to minimise the loss of gas and decrease in humidity and temperature.
? Design (Ergonomics) : The physical design of an Incubator should be such that all shelves must be easily accessible for all embryologists. There has to be an option of door opening either from right or left side with easy to operate door handle. The door should be secured and gas tight for minimizing leakages.
? Failure Alarm : The Incubator should have a remote alarm system either visual or audible in case of power failure and deviation in control parameters
? After Sales Support : The track record and expertise of the supplier, commitment of minimum down time, easy availability of spares and possibility of getting stand-by unit in emergency should be an additional criteria for selecting an Incubator

Re: co2 incubators
Copper ions are antibacterial hence reduce the bacterial count within the incubator. You still need to have the filters etc.
